My April 2019 Poshmark Sales Report

April has been quite the crazy month for me, not just from a reselling standpoint, but also in my personal life. My family and I are in the process of having a home built for us, I went to a 4 week language course, I became promotable in the Army, and had a yard sale! I get a lot of crap (especially from my husband) for being so busy all the time.  I just keep telling him that it’s a family curse; my grandmother and mother are the same way! We always have to be going and doing, and not resting.

Despite all of that, I still managed to keep up with my reselling endeavors and I had the best month yet! Can I quit my job just yet? Nope. Not a chance.  But I’m still hoping that by the time my military enlistment is up I will have a good foundation between reselling and this blog to justify not reenlisting. I may even start up with YouTube, but that’s a whole other story.

Okay so let’s get into what you really came here for, and that is my Sales report for 2019!

I’m going to start doing something a little different this time, and that is that I’m going to also show you how much I spent on inventory.  That way you can get a good understanding of how much I really made after expenses.

Total sales this month (total take home amounts after fees): $692.05

Total amount spent on inventory: $105.35

Total profit: $586.70

I made a few significant changes this month that I believe really attributed to my improvement.  The first being that I started selling on Mercari.  Only one of my sales this month came from Mercari, but I foresee it becoming a great source of additional income for me in May.

One of the sales was also a pair of shoes that I sold at the yard sale from my inventory.  It was only $5.00, but I account for every single penny in and out in regards to my business.

All other sales were from Poshmark.  I had no EBay sales this month ( I don’t really try very hard on EBay). I know, I know. I really should start.

Another huge change I made this month was the way I source my items.  In April, I only bought inventory from the Goodwill Outlet.  I paid about $1.50 per pound of clothing, and found that I’m able to flip these items much quicker because I can price them much better.  And I get a TON of clothing, so I’m able to keep lots of items in my shop.  Even then, I seem to be selling my items faster than I can list them!  But that’s a good thing.

My husband also helped me create an Excel spreadsheet to better track my expenses. I have a separate one that I use for regular thrifting, and another that I use for Outlet purchases. I’m able to see if I am losing or making money much easier this way!

I think once I’m able to do this full time, I’ll be able to spend an entire day on each task; one for sourcing, one for prepping and cleaning the clothes, one for photographing and listing, and one for promoting.  It’s good to start thinking of these things ahead of time so that I’m fully prepared to earn a good income to help support the new house.

So I can’t finish a month without coming up with a goal for the next month.  That being said, I’m going to aim to sell $1,000 worth of products between Poshmark and Mercari.  I’m still not worried too much about EBay, mostly because I’m terrified of keeping track of all of the fees.  Poshmark and Mercari just make it so easy by telling you exactly how much you will make for each sale.  For now, I’m happy with that. I know that $1,000 is a big jump from where I am currently, but I like to aim high! I don’t get disappointed if I don’t reach my goals, because I know that I worked my butt off in the process, and learned things along the way.

How were your sales in April?  What are your goals for May? I’d love to hear about them! Leave a comment below and make sure to subscribe to my blog for updates and hustle motivation!
